A Call to Action:

For more than 35 years, Trinity A.M.E. Church and Early Learning Center have contributed to the Lynhurst community and have been a stable and contributing asset to the neighborhood. Families have been able to depend on the excellent care and teaching provided by the Early Learning Center; many of the graduates of this daycare have grown up to  be productive citizens and contributors to the Atlanta community.   Now, however, Trinity is asking for your help.

Read this article from 11Alive.com that describes how thieves have repeatedly stolen the copper from the church's air-conditioning units, thus forcing the church to replace all of the units... at that time, twice. The article is dated 8/2/2009.  Since then, the thieves have hit the church a third time. This has put the church in a very difficult situation.

The children in the Trinity daycare cannot be allowed to  attend school without the same comforts available  in other daycare centers. The sweltering heat and humidity of the past few weeks were a testimony to the need for air conditioning in order to allow proper and more effective and efficient learning.

Trinity has had to purchase a more advanced security system to protect the air-conditioning units, in its continuing efforts to avert the thieves.  This new security system, alone, has cost over $20,000. The insurance does not cover this additional expense, so the monies must be raised.  The church needs your help, as they must continue to cover their regular expenses.

Other churches and schools in the neighborhood have also been victimized by similar crimes, perhaps not quite as repetitiously, however.

The church’s plans for expansion will have to be adjusted in the wake of these occurrences, but we do realize that the God we serve is bigger than this adversity. We are confident that with your help, God’s good works continue to be done and His glory will shine forth.
